I downloaded the Final release this morning and it's been working great, the CPU usage is lower than in Parallels, I used to have the fan of my MB at full speed with the other program.

congrats!

A hearty congrats to the VMware team. You've shipped a \_great_ product. I've been working on a VS 2005 web project and Fusion has added tremendously to my productivity.

Cheers,

Well, congratulations to Fusion Dev Team but I'm a bit disappointed about the lack of new features as well as improvements. I did a look to changelog and the list of know issues is so long...

What's new for next releases? Did you have already a roadmap?

thanks and have a nice work,

Fabrizio

O.K. I've loaded it, but it is very SLOW. I've adjusted the memory to over 700Mb, the processor to 2 and the graphics to high - but my intel core duo iMac is still SLOW running Fusion. I am using Boot Camp with Windows XP Pro.

When I run Boot Camp separately it works OK, but running it within Fusion is a nightmare. For starters, I have to select Boot Camp in the Fusion box and then press 'run'. This starts to load Windows XP, but I then have to (twice) put in passwords for the program to continue. Windows takes ages to load and all the programs take a long time to boot up. I am using full screen mode - is it any quicker using the Unity mode?

jmcrawford: How much RAM does your system have total? How is the speed once it boots up - some people say it takes a while to boot but is fine afterwards. Which things are you asked for passwords for? What happens if you only set the processors to 1? What is the bottleneck (CPU, disk, etc.)?

I have 1.5Gb of RAM. I increased the memory for Fusion to 1Gb but it is still slow. I tried your suggestion of 1 processor, but it was even slower!!

I have reset my password system in 'Accounts' on my iMac so that I only have to click OK now when the box appears.

I wish I knew what the bottleneck was. I am just about to re-install VW Ware Tools to see if that helps.

I have 1.5Gb of RAM. I increased the memory for

Fusion to 1Gb but it is still slow.

Given that, I would rather suggest decreasing the memory to 768 MB or even 512 MByte to have enough remaining for the host system (OS X). Granted, this will not help with your problem given on your information.

Ciao, Andreas

I have reinstalled VMware tools AND reduced the memory to 512Mb.

It now runs much faster - only 3 or 4 minutes to load Windows instead of 15minutes!!

The programs are still much slower than in native Boot Camp, especially Autocad LT.

I have written to VMWare Support for their help.
