This would be bad.
I rebootet one VM with my last post. It hat 450MB RAM
Now, 50 minutes later, this VM has only 226 MB
With logon and using some programs (already slow) RAM grew up to 247MB in task manager.
How could I make "virtual activity" on the VM to prevent the release of memory?
You can try disabling memory trimming in the host configuration from the Console. This might help, though I'm not sure to what extent.
You mean this setting?
VMWare Server Host Setting is "Fit all machine memory into reserved RAM" - reserved RAM ist 1545 MB
The settings for the 2 VMs is:
404 MB memory, advanced option: "Disable memory page trimming" is checked
btw: Task manager now shows me used RAM of 73 MB.
After using the machine it grew to 130 MB.
Down VM guest
add this line in your vmx file:
sched.mem.pshare = "FALSE"
Start VM guest
