Hi,
Does anybody know why managing a vm through vi3 is very long.
If i use a rdp connexion to manage my vm, there is no more pb.
So i think that the matter comes from the vi3 (installed on XP with 2 GB of RAM)
Thanks for your help
Have you installed VMware tools in the VM?
How fast is your network connection? On slower speed network connections the VI client is very slow using Remote Console to connect to VM's. It usually works fine on 100Mbps or higher LAN connections. On remote DSL and equivalent it is not that great. Better to use RDP if you can. Also see this recent post...

Hi,
Thanks for your answer.
I think you're right. My network connection is very slow : 10 Mb
and i suppose that's effectively why managing through vi3 is very difficult.
so i keep on using RDP ...
I've ever read your topic http://www.vmware.com/community/thread.jspa?threadID=90156&tstart=50
but i'm not concerned by it.
Thanks
thanks for your answer.
The answer is "yes" the vmtools are installed.
It's not a pb with the tools.
And are you at VC 2.01 update 2? If so, have a look at your VC logs and see if you see timeouts talking to the esx servers or database due to your slow networking.
Sorry but i changed my position a few years ago.
Thanks everybody for your help. We can forget this problem
