I'm working in enterprise sphere and Amount of ESX servers is growing consistantly.
In order to save time on cluster and similiar configurations, I found a way which provides very simple and fast resource configurations:
NFS settings could be taken from /etc/vmware/esx.conf file and must be inserted into the same file on target host.
Related lines look like (/firewall/ line is required):
/firewall/services/AAMClient = "0"
/firewall/services/nfsClient = "1"
/nas/xxxx/enabled = "true"
/nas/xxxx/host = "xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.xxx"
/nas/xxxx/readOnly = "false"
/nas/xxxx/share = "/IT"
/nas/zzzz/enabled = "true"
/nas/zzzz/host = "xxxx.xxxx.xxxx.xxxxx"
/nas/zzzz/readOnly = "false"
/nas/zzzz/share = "/xx/xx/xx"
Also virtual networking switchs' lines start by this prefix(/net/vswitch/):
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/portgroup/child\[0000]/prettyName = "DEMO Desktops Network"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/portgroup/child\[0000]/teamPolicy/linkCriteria/beacon = "ignore"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/portgroup/child\[0000]/teamPolicy/team = "lb_srcmac"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/portgroup/child\[0000]/uid = "portgroup7"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/portgroup/child\[0000]/vlanId = "0"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/securityPolicy/forgedTx = "true"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/securityPolicy/macChange = "true"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/securityPolicy/promiscuous = "false"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/shapingPolicy/enabled = "false"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/teamPolicy/linkCriteria/beacon = "ignore"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/teamPolicy/linkCriteria/fullDuplex = "ignore"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/teamPolicy/linkCriteria/minSpeed = "10"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/teamPolicy/linkCriteria/pctError = "ignore"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/teamPolicy/maxActive = "2"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/teamPolicy/notifySwitch = "true"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/teamPolicy/reversePolicy = "true"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/teamPolicy/rollingRestoration = "false"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/teamPolicy/team = "lb_srcmac"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/teamPolicy/uplinks\[0000]/pnic = "vmnic2"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/teamPolicy/uplinks\[0001]/pnic = "vmnic3"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/uplinks/child\[0000]/pnic = "vmnic2"
/net/vswitch/child\[0003]/uplinks/child\[0001]/pnic = "vmnic3"

Sounds intresting. Do you use much NFS in production for small deployments of ESX?
