problem virtualizing older Windows systems

We are running ESX v3 on our systems and are running into a problem when we virtualize older systems. Many of our older systems were set up with very small C drives (100 MB) larger D drives (6 GB) and then a data drive (20 GB). I cannot virtualize these as is, does anyone have any suggestions about how I could rig these systems up to get them virtual? I’ve kinda hit a brick wall in my thinking, and if there is a way to virtualize these I would like to. Thanks!!

NT3.51 actually came on CD!? I expected it to be a

stack of 50 or so floppy disks lol.

Yepp - with 3 :smileyalert: boot disks. AFAIR you were able to order a floppy version too.

I guess I'm getting hung up on VMware's definition of "clone source images" when they could state "clone source physical machine"...

esiebert7625 - I'd love to see MS-DOS run in a VM with a 3Ghz CPU and 1GB RAM in your museum. Why have 640K, when you can have 1GB!!

What about PC Tool v4.21... I had Xtree Pro and later Xtree Gold just about on all my workstations and even on my UNIX i386 and SunOS servers...

My first "proof of concept" for VMWare was by creating a MS-DOS 6.22 virtual installation, loading a TCP/IP stack - think it was Novell's - and surfing the company intranet on Lynx... After that Win98 and the rest followed.
