WOW, VMware Workstation 6.0 becomes so fat: 282M!

Does the new features added in ws6.0 need about 200M binary code to implement it ?

That because it has ACE build in to it.

This is because you now have two product in one (WS & ACE).

Of course you need a ACE license to turn on the ACE functionality.

Why triple the size of the Workstation download for a component I would imagine most of us will not be using. I would have preferred to be given the choice of downloading ACE on my own term.

Is it a trend? WS6.5 to include WS + ACE + X + Y .... GB+ size?

Of course, by the time I write this, the download would almost be complete

Good. Now I know how to get ACE downloaded

(Just purchased WS6 with free option pack)

Also, the Tools ISOs are larger. And, there are lots of new features/functions in Workstation 6 which most likely require more code. And, there is a 3rd level of debugging instead of just yes/no, there is none/statistics/full - so there are 3 bin folders, not just 2. All of these things add up.

Seriously. You are acting like its almost a gig. Its nowhere near that. If you are going to run VMs then space shouldn't even be an issue.
