Full screen --- how to bring to front?

I hope this isn't an inappropriate question…

I have two monitors. One has a VM running in full screen mode. It's also the monitor with the OS X dock. When I enter full-screen mode and work, everything is fine. If I then click in the other monitor, the OS X dock and menu move in front of the VM screen. This is fine and useful.

However, now I want to go back to the VM running in full screen mode. When I cliick in the window, the OS X dock and menu persist, covering part of the screen (including part that I want to use).

Is there a way to bring the VM to front without quitting / re-entering full-screen mode?

thx

This is a known issue.

Click any of the icons on the right side (monitors/airport/sound/clock/fast user switch/spotlight/etc.) of the menubar.

Thanks!

I'll not worry about since it's a known issue. At least the icon click is a simple work-around.
