I wouldn't expect to see anything like this in the near (or far) future. This would open an absolutely HUGE security risk. All someone would have to do is to compromise one single guest on the host and then the entire environment would be at risk...
I'm not following, could you help me understand a little better? how would hacking the guest compromise the host?
Maybe I didn't word that request correctly.
I want to be able to call a script on the ESX host, thats already there now, not call a script from the client workstation from Virtual Center, instead of having to SSH in and run it manually from the ESX console.
Using the access controls from within VC.
Ahh....it helps if your really READ the question!
Now that I understand what you're asking for, it makes sense. There's probably a way to implement this through the various API's that are available for VI-3...maybe if you go ask in the url=http://www.vmware.com/community/forum.jspa?forumID=25Virtual Infrastructure SDK, CIM SDK, and Legacy Scripting APIs forum[/url] someone will have the magic you need.
Cool, thanks. I'll post there.
It would still be nice to see in the VC.
