I am looking for a way to be alerted when an HBA fails on ESX. Unfortunately the fiber switch doesn't have a function to send an e-mail alert when a link fails, and there is no snmp monitoring at the client.
If the solution is get a switch that sends link down alerts, or use snmp thats fine, I just want to make sure that there is not a way in ESX /VC or someone has not created some clever script to do such a thing and would be willing to share.
