I'm not much of a market player, but can't anyone buy in on an IPO?

Depends on how it works, but this is great news. It makes sense since EMC can't really role VMware into it's core business, but this lets them keep most of the profits Smiley Happy I'm buying everything I can on this.

Normally no.

They should give us some shares for spending so much time here Smiley Happy

Lol! Shares are virtualized, you don't even need to ship them.

Ken, Ken, Ken!

If I knew your middle name, this would be the time to use it.

Now that I think about it, your one of the only guys around here my age or older than me, perhaps I should not talk like your mother!

Hey Brian, if you can't stir the pot at our age, what's the use of all the gray hair???? But really, I want to know if you remember how to butterfly paper tape?

BTW - I have my shrit (it's an original VMware Community[/i] shirt - not a knock-off VMTN shirt (a true collector's item), I'll have you know!)

Hi

I have no idea what IPO means. I read the press statement and "EMC announced their plan to put 10% of VMware into the public market sometime this summer". I have no clue to what this means.

Ah thanks.

And with a little help from google, I learned that this means their putting shares on the market. Am I correct?
