NSX-V Standalone Edge L2VPN, would it work in KVM?

Thinking about ways to temporarily extend a L2 from a NSX-V environment to Openstack. Could I deploy a stand alone Edge on KVM? Would that work? I haven't found any documentation about it, and before committing to test it I'd like to know if anybody has done this in the past.

Any reason why you think this wouldn't work?

This will simply not work as there are a lot of requirements that does not exist in KVM. With NSX-T the support for KVM has been added but unfortunately this will not work with NSX-V.

The standalone client is deployed from an OVF and the descriptor file has a lot configurations that are not understandable by KVM.

That wouldnt be an issue. The ovf can be deployed on vmware with the right settings and converted and imported to kvm.

I guess the question is whether the vds or vss are involved in the l2vpn, because if they arent and all the magic happens at the virtual appliance, why shouldnt it work?
