Alert on VM disk usage growth over 24 Hour period

Hi,

I want to create an alert that will fire when a VMs disk usage grows rapidly (i.e. 1tb over 24 hours).

I have created a view with this data by creating an expression over 24 hours. It calculates disk usage now minus 24hrs ago.

How would I do the same but to fire an alert when this reaches a certain threshold? I was thinking to create a super metric for disk usage 24 hours ago and alert when the difference is x greater than the current value, but I dont know how to do a time shift for the super metric, or if that is even possible.

Thanks!

At the moment you cannot compare a current value of a metric to an older value of the same metric (not possible to look back for this comparison).

You can do this in a view, you cannot do so in a super metric or symptom.

With an expression transformation of last-first  you can show the change over the view's time range.
