Hello everyone,
I had 3 VM templates in my template library. But two of them disappeared from the template listing, but are still in the VM templates datastore. It would not be the case to import it, as they are already in the datastore defined for the templates. It would be a situation to add an existing template in the template library. How can I do this?
VSphere version: 6.7
Hi there,
Did you check if the template was converted to Virtual Machine?
If not, browse the Datastore, you should have a .VMTX file and mark it and select Register VM option. If you don't have that file, but you have the vmdk files. You can create a new empty VM and attach this disk and then convert to template.
Hope that helps,
Cheers
Hi Nicolas,
I found the .VMTX file and select Register VM option. But now it appears as a Template but is not in the template library.
I you now have the template in the inventory, you can clone again to the content library. Did you try that?
I tried, but it gave error. Actually, I can't even begin the process, when I'm going to inform the name, vSphere says that the Template name already exists. Of course, it is already physically in the library's datastore. Remembering that the Templates are and have always been in the library's DS what disappeared was in the Templates list
