Fail install VMware ESXi 7.0 on USB to dual SD flash cards

Hi, All

I hit failure message "[Errno110] Connection time out" when install VMware ESXi 7.0b on USB to dual SD flash cards(Cypress chip).

I use same device to install VMware ESXi 6.7 but no issue occurred.

May anyone give me some comments?

Hey joewei99​,

When it comes to SD cards you should always check with your vendor first not see if it is supported for the version of ESXi you are trying to install. If you press Alt+F12 you will see the logs of the installation.

What is the size of the SD Card?

So as I can see on the sense codes you are experiencing some Storage reset problems and that can indicate some outdated firmware or even some errors with the connector of the SD.

Have you updated the firmware of your server before installing ESXi 7? This is a must when you change versions. Which server and vendor are you using?
