vRA 81.1 Host was applicable for selection, but another one was selected

Hi

I'm trying to provision a VM on a cluster with 3 hosts . from vSphere perespective there is nothing wrong with ESXes.

The blueprint worked on the past but now th eprovissioning pocess cannot allocate machine. The error is "Host was applicable for selection, but another one was selected". Nothing else was sleced, the process failed ...

Thanks for any suggestions

Radek

Hello radekr,

This is because of the placement policy that you are applying for that cloud zone. Please look at the next link: Learn more about vRealize Automation Cloud Assembly cloud zones

Hi Lalegre

Thanks for you reply. I use "default" placement policy, but even changing it to "spread" doesn't make any difference.

There is only one cluster available for machine allocation, but still the message is "Host was applicable for selection, but another one was selected" (there i s no "another one")

Rebooting vRA didn't help eihter ... what else can I check?

Thanks

Radek

Hello radekr,

There is a another one because is talking about ESXi. But if you changed from default to spread and it did not work in seems weird. However have you changed anything before that suddenly broke the provisioning? I am referring adding some constraints, new blueprint properties, etc.

Could you show us or explain us the logic you are using on your blueprint, cloud zones, project, etc?

Hi

I lost partinance troubleshooting and rebuilt vRA. After importing/recreating original configuration and blueprints, everthing works fine now. Hope it will not happen again ...

Thanks

Radek
