Hi,
We've just discovered on macOS 10.15.x (Catalina) that several text warnings appear in the Terminal if our installer is launched from the command line and open folder button on the path changing dialog is clicked:
Example:
./installbuilder.sh --mode osx
2020-08-28 16:50:59.706 osx-x86_64[1051:18666] WARNING: <NSOpenPanel: 0x1002be550> running implicitly; please run panels using NSSavePanel rather than NSApplication.
On a system with a touch bar (MacBook Pro 2019 for instance), the following entries also appear right after:
2020-08-28 16:50:59.753 osx-x86_64[1051:18666] warning: <NSRemoteView: 0x1004530c0 com.apple.appkit.xpc.openAndSavePanelService ((null)) NSServiceViewControllerForTouchBarItem> determined it was necessary to configure <_NSFunctionRowPanel: 0x100270de0> to support remote view vibrancy
2020-08-28 16:50:59.794 osx-x86_64[1051:18666] warning: <NSRemoteView: 0x1004c9810 com.apple.appkit.xpc.openAndSavePanelService ((null)) NSServiceViewControllerForTouchBarItem> determined it was necessary to configure <_NSFunctionRowPanel: 0x100270de0> to support remote view vibrancy
The installer still works, including the path changing functionality with the dialog. These messages are of course not visible if you don't use a Terminal to launch an installer. It was discovered with an InstallBuilder 19.11.0 based installer, but it reproduces the exact same way in an InstallBuilder 20.7.0 based installer too.
Cheers,
Joey
Hi Joey,
I've not been able to reproduce the issue. Could you tell me the exact version the issue occurs? Also, which flavour of InstallBuilder are you using? Regular or the QT version?
Best regards,
Michiel
Hi Michiel,
It happens with regular InstallBuilder 19.11.0 and 20.7.0, on macOS Catalina 10.15.6 on at least two different systems, my dev system and on an installer QA system. We never used the QT version.
Thanks,
Joey
