I am going to test the vm(autoinfo) with linked clones in Horizon 7.12.
and I have taken several steps, including reviewing the dns and all the settings and installing a new upper vm.
However, in a linked clone desktop pool, the vm does not proceed with customizing.
I installed all the programs related to Horizon in the latest version.
please help me!
I have been suffering from this problem for two weeks.
When deploying a vCenter Server Appliance (VCSA), you have two options for setting up a static network address: using either a hostname (Fully Qualified Domain Name) or just a static IP Address (e.g. no DNS). when a static IP Address is used, a DNS server is not required because we are NOT using an FQDN for the hostname but rather an IP Address. What option you selected?
Try like this: https://VCSA-FQDN/vsphere-client/?csp
Have you tried to logging to the desktop and seeing if its attached to the domain?
The account that's attaching it to the domain does it have the correct permissions?
Also check out the logs for composer
Check your golden image license, active directory OU permissions, storage space and pool settings.
If KMS license is not available try to disable it
https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1026556
yes i checked domain attached.
original vm and linked clone is connected to a domain.
i checked ping and nslookup.
There is only one domain and the purpose is to test it only.
Attach the composer log
I don't know what's wrong with the log.
first state : customizing -> error ( customization operation timed out )
yes i checked ad permisions and storage space, pool setting.
and what is golden image license?
In the last 7.5 version, There was no need for a license was required.
what is golden image license?
The windows license, if the clone can't activate it won't finish customizing unless you set a special registry key.
You need a Microsoft Volume Licensing for the master or golden image.
Can you post any screenshot for error, warming, or massage from the view administrator pool status and view composer details.
There are 2 typical licenses for Windows 10 and VDI, if you plan to use Instant/linked Clones then KMS is the only way. If you want to test and don't have KMS you can use the URL i put in the other reply and disable that requirement.
Multiple activation key
A Multiple Activation Key (MAK) is commonly used in small- or mid-sized organizations that have a volume licensing agreement, but they do not meet the requirements to operate a KMS or they prefer a simpler approach. A MAK also allows permanent activation of computers that are isolated from the KMS or are part of an isolated network that does not have enough computers to use the KMS.
Key Management Service
With the Key Management Service (KMS), IT pros can complete activations on their local network, eliminating the need for individual computers to connect to Microsoft for product activation. The KMS is a lightweight service that does not require a dedicated system and can easily be cohosted on a system that provides other services.
Plan for volume activation (Windows 10) - Windows Deployment | Microsoft Docs
If you have a KMS server on your domain you need to use a certain KEY in Windows, this key tells the OS that there is a KMS server assuming thats all setup. Find them at following URL
KMS client setup keys | Microsoft Docs
Hope this helps
i'm korean.
my horizon7 language setting is korean
so i changed Korean to English as much as I can.
do you know how to change language setting?
and I uploaded all my logs
i don't know my problem.
I set up the same desktop pool in 7.5 and 7.11, but it's not working at all in 7.12.
i tried this solution but it didn't work.
my situation is this picture.
Do you think it's a licensing issue?
i tried this solution but it didn't work.
Hi
Please check if these VMs are getting proper IP, AD Join. Skip License Activation If Test environment.
This could be the problem with Master Image Agent settings in v7.12,
Please do as seen below.
Try disabling License Activation in RegEdit.
I got this from your log file. Read carefully it could be a clue as to what's going on. Possibly, check connections and AD users rights. Once again Master image O/S license.

DNS reverse direction search show same clone's ip got 3 times.
i can access vcenter with an IP address.
However, You can access vcenter : 5480 address. i can log in.
FQDN page error
"An error occurred while sending an authentication request to the vCenter Single Sign-On server (an error occurred while processing metadata during the VCenter Single Sign-On setup. Service provider validation failed. Verify that the server URL is correct and in FQDN format, and that the host name is a trusted service provider alias."
i checked ping test with "vcenter.ws1.com, hc.ws1.com (horizon connection server), vm image...etc
I didn't have a license, so I deactivated the license function.
i use quick prep.
I only added an account to Ad's group until version 7.11. Never assigned authority. How do you assign authority?
my ad/dns server os is window server 2016 r2 64 bit
