vmware 4.0.0 error para instalar windows 2012

Dear, I have 2 Dell Poweredge R710 server,
one with vSphere Client ver 4.0.0 vmware
ESXI 4.0.0, and another server with nothing but the
Dell's factory system, the one with vmware
I have it with 3 virtualized windows 2003 servers, but
for some reason vmware is limited until
Win 2003 version, won't let me install windows 2012
or higher, how can I do to allow me
install windows 2012 and how ????

vSphere 4.0 comes at end of 2009 or so and thats the reason why you dont find a OS from 2012 in the option list. You can try to create a 64bit 2008 like VM and download the VMware tools manually and install the needed driver.

A Dell R710 is certified up to 6.0 and runs also on 6.5 (unsuportet) . If the R710 comes with the Intel Westmere than 6.7 is possible but unsupportet.

You should consider to upgrade or refresh the environment because its out of support since ages and contains ton of security issues.
