Cmd+Tab working in Workstation Pro, but not Fusion Pro

Hey all. Getting my new MacBook Pro setup. Have both Workstation Pro on my Windows laptop and now Fusion Pro on my Mac. I'm a penetration tester so the VM in question is Kali Linux. I can Alt-Tab within the VM just fine (not even full screen) to switch between open applications within the VM. In Fusion Pro/on the Mac, however, it just brings opened apps on the host/in OS X. Is there a way to fix this?

Also, Cmd+D isn't bookmarking pages in Firefox (in the VM), whereas Ctrl+D works fine in Workstation Pro on Windows. I love the layout of Fusion Pro - just need to iron out these minor issues.e g

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Latest version of Fusion Pro, Mac up to date, Kali up to date.

Try opt-tab instead of cmd-tab inside the VM to switch tasks.  For Firefox, try ctrl-D instead of cmd-d.

Hi, sullyinatx

I don't have a Kali Linux VM, so I try it in Ubuntu VM in Fusion. Both Option(Alt)+Tab (switch between running apps) and Ctrl+D (bookmarking page) work well.

A little bit confused. If the Alt+Tab and Ctrl+D are the shortcuts, why you have to use Cmd+Tab and Cmd+D to do that? On MacBook Pro, it also has a Control key, and the Alt key should be the Option key.

You were correct. It was just my lack of knowledge of.... a little bit of everything lol. Not used to OS X quite yet, much less virtualization in Mac OS. Plus I was coming off a 12 hour study day for the certification I'm currently studying for. Thanks Smiley Happy

No worries :-).  Fusion does a good job of mapping a lot of the keys, but there's a few that you have to go native for.
