SRM Installation Error - Time Skew is too large

hello,

am trying to install SRM 8.3.2 (exe file) in my environment (details below) . Running into the below error .

Error - The time skew between Site Recovery manager host and vCenter Server is too large.

Environment -

ESXi host - 6.7 U3

vCenter - VCSA - 6.7 U3g

Both ESXi host and vCenter are configured with NTP and in sync with the time.

Not sure what else am missing. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

MT

Its time issue. Check the time on you local machine where you installing the SRM. Make sure time should not big difference between them . In 30-40 seconds..

Thanks for the input. It did work.

My local machine time was lagging by 3 minutes, manually adjusted , after that am able proceed with the installation.

Thanks

Hi

Glad to hear that manually setting the time worked. Manual time setting might work temporarily and if the time changes again on SRM server after a reboot, time sync issue between SRM and NTP server needs to be checked.

Time skew between this machine and the vCenter Server is too large.

I am getting above error while configuring Vsphere replication in  VMware VRMS Appliance Management

Please help me to resolve the same.

Thanks

Hi @jezna ,

This is a common error for most of the products. I would suggest posting this issue in vSphere replication forum.

As far as the error is concerned, there is a time difference between VR and vCenter. Time difference should not be more than 30 seconds between them.

Running the 'date' command on vC and VR should give you an idea about the time difference.
