Workstation 15 Player Can't add Ethernet Ports ??

Thank you for Reading

Hope you can help..... We have a Virtual Machine we are attempting to get going.

All is good but we can't get the Network working  ??

As soon as we add network connectivity we get the errors :-

No PCIe slot available for Ethernet0.  Remove Ethernet0 and try again.

Then

Error while powering on: No PCIe slot available for Ethernet0.  Remove Ethernet0 and try again.

Failed to start the virtual machine.

For reference the two vmx files are attached......

The "No_Network" runs fine with no network but "With_Network" Reports the errors and doesn't run

Help Please .....Thank You for reading

Andy

Give the attached .vmx file a try.  I don't know how, but your PCIe Root Port configuration got messed up, leaving your VM with no free PCIe slots.  I have added

   pciBridge4.functions = "8"

to the configuration file, and that should give you another 7 free PCIe ports and that will hopefully get it working.  Let us know how it goes!

Ahhhh, you need to also remove the existing ethernet0.pciSlotNumber line from the .vmx file.  Slot number 22 is a PCI slot, and a PCIe device won't work in a PCI slot.
