vCloud Director External Network

Hi Guyz,

In vCloud Director 10.1 , when I create "External Network" backed by "Standard Switch", doesn't apear in Provider VDC External Networks. Just find "External networks" backed by NSX-T.

Actually need External networks with standard (or VDS) network for using public IPs for VM created in org VDC.

Would you please help me in this regards?

How should I do that?

because when we create "External Network" we should find it as "Direct network" in Organization VDC .... in this case I just see "Import" network that we use only created segment network

In our situation, we use DVS based vSwitches, I have not tested with standard vSwitches. All the VLAN backed portgroups are visible in the "Port Groups" section under "vSphere Resources". If they are not visible here, the next steps will not work.

This way we can use VLAN backed portgroups as External Networks for our VCD customers and can add them to their Org VDC. Step 2 is to add a VLAN backed port groups to the list of "External Networks" in the "Cloud Resources".

Hopefully this makes any sense.

Hi Daniël,

this all make sense, my problem was a blank screen during orgVDC Network creation, so I could not create a Direct network for the organization.

No I reinstalled the VCD in version 10.1.2 (before it was 10.2) and now it is working as you described.

Thanks
