DEM - admx and horizon smart policies not applying

I've identified at least two specific settings that do not apply down to any given vm.

1) Horizon Smart Policy - Switch Encoder - Enabled

This does not apply on the machine. I don't see the registry setting created, nor do I see the encoder set to "switch" in the horizon performance tracker. Im forced to use a standard group policy for this now.

2) Admx based settings - Outlook - setting cached mode sync settings - 6 months

This does not apply on the machine. I'm forced to make this change via group policy as well.

There might be more of these, but its starting to look like computer specific registry settings to not work via DEM settings.

Has anyone seen this before? Am I missing something?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi DNieroda,

1) Horizon Smart Policy - Switch Encoder - Enabled

Just to make sure: has the DEM agent been configured to apply computer environment settings? If so, are the file shares configured to allow access by remote computer accounts? Is there anything in the event log on the agent machines?

2) Admx based settings - Outlook

Anything suspicious in the DEM agent log file?

Hi DEMdev, thanks for the reply!

Yes, I have computer environment settings applied, however i'm using the Horizion Smart Policy and ADMx settings under User environment, not Computer environment. so, not sure if that matters?

Not seeing anything stick out under agent logs..

for my Configuration share, I only have user and admin accounts in there

for my profile shares, I have SYSTEM included..

When you say remote computer accounts, do you mean SYSTEM or something else, such as Domain Computers?

Hi DNieroda,

I'm sorry, I was confused. I mistakenly thought that the switch encoder was a computer environment setting, but of course it is not... Note to self: do not respond to forum questions at 11:25pm on a Saturday night Smiley Happy

So, never mind my remarks about computer environment settings and additional share configuration. Instead, let's just take a look at your FlexEngine log, at log level DEBUG.

Apologies for the confusion.
