vROPS to automate adding hosts to VMware cluster when demanded

Folks,

Hope you are all staying safe and doing well!.

Now that vROPS (8.1) understand vSAN greatly, i would like to improve the Capacity Management process to automaticaly add host to a cluster when there is a demand for capacity.

Is there a way i can automate this process using vROPS which can contact SDDC Manager (VCF 4.0) and add host(s) to cluster?

Deeply appreciate your ideas and suggestions around.

Thanks in advance.

There is no direct integration between vrops and VCF that i am aware. It may be on the roadmap and nothing mentioned about it. The only option i can think of and is theory and no idea if it would work is maybe generate a VRO workflow based of an alert in vrops that would start a VCF job to expand.

Yeah there is no direct integration between vROPs and the SDDC manager. Your only option is to build something in vRO or a tool like Node-RED to convert the vROPs API into a format the SDDC Manager can deal with.

See 3.6 of the SDDC Manager API guide
