In below Image the "Desktop-FAJHEEM" the Share folder of My Host PC .
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters
新建一个DWORD 32位值,名称为AllowInsecureGuestAuth,数值为1
重启电脑,你测试一下,不知道行不行,这个可以解决0x80004005 smb错误
Translation added by moderator:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters
Create a new DWORD 32-bit value with the name AllowInsecureGuestAuth and a value of 1
Restart the computer, you test it, don't know if it works, this can solve the 0x80004005 smb error
Let me confirm your request. You want to access some files/folders on your host operating system (i.e. the OS installed on your physical machine) from your guest operating system (the OS installed in your VM). If that is the case, have you added a host folder as Shared Folder in VM > Settings > Options > Shared Folders? If so, can you access it in your guest OS via \\vmware-host\Shared Folders?
Dear Sir
Its happening just few days before " Previously everything normal " that i could't access Host Machine shared folder , Previously i am able to access host shared folder in Different VMware Workstation Versions like Version 15, & 15.5 .Further adding to this: i am able to Access Host Share folder " Herein Called Desktop-FAHEEM" using Host IP Address i.e in Vmware Press Win+R then add "\\192.168.10.xx" which is Host machine IP and connect easily . I try to Add Host folder according to your suggestion but it can't help me as it shows same error.. Would it be Window May 2004 Some Security Issue. .
If you access your host folder via \\host_ip, you are not accessing the folder via VMware Shared Folder (i.e. HGFS). Instead, you are accessing it via Windows SMB. To use VMware 's Shared Folders, you can add shared folder from vm settings as I said, and map it as a drive (click the checkbox "Map a network drive in Windows guest"), then access it via opening "Z:" drive in your guest OS.
