Unity Windows 10 VM Taskbar fullscreen

I am running VMware Fusion 11.5.5 on macOS Catalina 10.15.5. I have a Windows 10 virtual machine and when hiding the taskbar the Windows app does not extend to take up the whole screen. How can I fix this?

Yes, VMware tools is installed.

To clarify - I am hiding the Taskbar in Unity by clicking on the VMware Unity icon in the dock (which appears after I enter Unity mode), and then selecting "Hide Taskbar in Unity". I was hoping that by doing so the Windows app would extend down to take up all of my Mac's screen.
