Pass-through between windows 2012 R2 and SAS HPE E208e-p SR Gen 10

Hi all,

To connect a LTO directly to my windows 2012 R2 virtual server, I configured the pass-through between the corresponding SAS controller and the VM

ESX version 6.5 Update 3

SAS controller HPE E208e-p SR Gen 10

On the server, the perific is showed as  "controller SAS" not driver found

For informations the vm is update to date for VMWare tools and Hardware level (version 6.5, hw13)

Any idea where find the good driver for Windows 2012 R2 ?

What you're doing is completely unsupported, so I won't attempt to provide assistance other than to let you know that ESXi does not support tape drives or libraries, either directly connected or passed through.

I'm surprise as we used this configuration on another plateform successfully but with ESX5.5 and pass-through to tape.

Have you a link or documentation that's explain your answer please ?

You're stuck because this isn't supposed to be done in the first place, that's why it's not supported. So a good way to get unstuck ==> don't do it in the first place.
