NSX VCP-NV Certification

Dear

i would like ask about the VCP-NV certificate.i have see the requirement for that i have pass tow exam.the first one VCP-DCV and the second one is VCP-NV.also i have attend the course .so my question do need attend for VCP-DCV and VCP-NV course class or attend one of them and pass the both exam to be certified.

Hi Altiger,

Once you do ONE official trianing, you are entitled to do that VCP certification (for example DCV one)

Then, when you have the VCP on that track, you are entitled to do any other VCP in other tracks.

For example, I did one official training in DCV, and then the VCP certification, after that, I did NV and CMA without taking any other official training.

It is not a requirement. But ofc if you can do it I will add valuable knowdge.

There are 2 derivatives of the VCP-NV 2020, 1 for NSX-V and 1 for NSX-T - the requirements for each are different.

To try and answer your question, you do NOT need to attend multiple classes and do NOT need to pass multiple VCP exams - there is no requirement to pass a VCP-DCV exam in order to achieve VCP-NV.

For the NSX-V derivative you must attend an NSX-V class, pass a vSphere Foundations Exam, and pass an NSX-V VCP exam.

If instead you follow the NSX-T derivative you must attend an NSX-T class and pass an NSX-T VCP exam - there is no requirement to pass a vSphere Foundations exam seeing as NSX-T can be used without vSphere.

thank you for quick responding to me.i had took official training class for nsx-v called NSX,install,configure ,Manage 6.2. the get certified in VCP-NV i have pass tow exam in vcp-dcv and one exam in vcp-nv.so as you mention the course was took is enough or need take official tanning course for vcp-dcv to be certified vcp-nv.

I have mentioned above, you do NOT need to take any VCP-DCV exam, or take any training associated with VCP-DCV (which would be a vSphere class).

If you followed the link I posted above you would have seen the NSX-V and NSX-T derivatives, and if you had clicked the NSX-V link on that page you would have been taken here:

As you have already completed one of the NSX-V classes that meets the training requirement, you have 2 things left to complete:

• Pass the vSphere Foundations exam
• Pass the NSX-V exam

Let me be really clear:

• It is NOT a requirement to complete VCP-DCV before you can achieve VCP-NV
• It is NOT a requirement to complete ANY other certification before you can achieve VCP-NV

There is no such thing as VCA-DCV these days, it doesn’t exist.

There IS a VCA-DBT but it is a standalone certification, it is NOT a pre-requisite for VCP-NV or any other VCP.

Whatever else you are hearing or reading is bad/poor/wrong information.

One final comment from me, the NSX-V exam retires on June 30th.

So if you want to achieve VCP-NV via the NSX-V derivative, you MUST pass the NSX-V exam by June 30th.

After that date, I believe that ONLY the NSX-T derivative of VCP-NV will remain.

That will depend on whether you achieve the VCP-NV 2020 first or not.
