VMware Workstation Pro 15.5.2 - mouse pointer jumping in RHEL7u6/7/8 after Windows 10 May 2004 Update.

VMware Workstation Pro 15.5.2 - mouse pointer jumping in RHEL7u6/7/8 after Windows 10 May 2004 Update installed on both laptop and workstation where VMware is ran on workstation and laptop connects via VPN using RDC (Remote Desktop).

After reverting May 2004 update back to build 1709 on both machines everything backs to normal.

Trying to change mouse cursor settings like described in this article: VMware Knowledge Base

in Edit -> Preferences -> Input -> Optimize mouse for games -> Automatic -> Always did not resolve this issue.

Is this a known issue for VMware Workstation development team?

You might have an issue similar to that seen in VMware Workstation 15.1 mouse issue with RDP and Windows 10 1903 host .

In my case, changing to disable the WDDM graphic driver use on RDP session (for the 'RDP target') solved my issue (although that option is going away if it hasn't already).

You should be running 15.5.6 on Windows 10 2004, released a week or so ago.

It is great that we have 15.5.6 that is compatible with May 2004 Update but still no information if this resolve described issue.

I believe enterprise and business users would like to know it.

OK here is a solution - to install VMware Tools 10.3.0:

List installed versions
[root@rhel7u6 ~]# rpm -qa|grep open-vm-tools
open-vm-tools-desktop-10.2.5-3.el7.x86_64
open-vm-tools-10.2.5-3.el7.x86_64
