We had the same problem and by upgrading the BIOS to the latest version, our problem was solved.

Try to get the BIOS updated, and also look if there is a special or customized vSphere image for that type of hardware ( search on hp website).

also check on the BIOS settings if HTT is enabled or not it should be enabled by default
