Upgrading from ESXi 5.5.0 U3 to 7.0 Remotely

Is there a document to provide the procedure for upgrading ESXi 5.5.0 U3 to ESXi 7.0 (and updates) remotely?

Thank you in advance Smiley Happy

Upgrading from 5.5 to 7.0 is unfortunately not supported, see VMware Product Interoperability Matrices.

Also remember to verify that your hardware is supported for the new version before installing ESXi 7.0 on them, especially if this is a production environment.

There's no guidance here that is specific to 7.0. Regarding the "remotely" piece, you still have to have access to the ESXi host. Such an upgrade is a multi-phased approach. You cannot go from 5.5 to 7.0. Prior to even starting to push buttons, you really need to ensure your host is even compatible with 7.0. Many from the 5.5 days are not.

I should mention, there is no vCenter so it would be via the CLI.

These servers have not been placed into production since the 5.5.0 U3 was installed. So, I'll just load 7.0 from go. Thanks! BTW, Servers were verified previously.

Better verify BIOS and firmware levels, too, especially if they weren't touched since 5.5 was installed on them.
