Signing Ceritificate for vcenter

Hi guys,

I am trying to replace ssl certificate for vcenter 6.7. In which I am having client certificate and client key. But I dont have any idea about Signing certificate. I am having commercial pfx certificate for my domain. Can I create Signing certificate from this using openssl? If so, how?

Any help?

The signing certificate would have been issued by your commercial CA, usually in the form of .pem or .crt file. This is the certificate used to sign the client certificate and is most likely an intermediate signing CA cert.

Hi daphnissov,

Yes am having a .pem file. But am not sure whether its the signing certificate. Is there any method to determine whether its a signing certificate or not?

Ask the company who actually signed your certificate for you?

Yes am having a .pem file.

An easy way to view the certificate's details is to rename the extension to e.g. .crt which allows you to open, and view it in Windows.

The details will show the signer, as well as the requester. Remember that the certificate (.pem) file can only be used by a system which also has the appropriate private key, which has been used to create the certificate request.
