Hi. Scratching / banging my head my head
Newly rebuilt MBP running Catalina 10.15.4 and VMWare Fusion 11.5.3 Running a fresh clean install of Windows 10 Enterprise on the Boot Camp Assistant created volume. The install runs natively on the Boot Camp volume without issue.
When I tried to create a Boot Camp VM, it creates it without complaint; however, when I start the VM, I get the "No compatible bootloader found error" and the VM will not boot. It sounds exactly like the boot sector issue caused by SIP described in: VMware Knowledge Base
So, following the KB suggestion, I went in and turned SIP off. Now, if I go and try to create a Boot Camp VM, I instead fail with: "Could not create the Virtual Disk for your Boot Camp virtual machine."
I have tried every conceivably variation of SIP enabled / SIP disabled and leaving / deleting the folder in ~/Library/Application Support/VMWare with no luck.
Any insight or assistance would be very much appreciated.
