iOS purchased app - pending check

I've a purchased app which already shows new version in the app store (Apple Business Manager).

But on my iPhone I still see the older version, it tells me to download new version from app store. But app store is hidden for the iPhones.

They get the apps via VPP from Workspace One. But in Workspace One I still see "pending check".

I have no chance to force update. I only can activate "auto update" but still see "pending check".

Vmware support solved it.

It is easy:

mark the app in the app list

click "manage devices"

filter for "installed"

click "install"

Well, it is not really solved.

Of course I can force update by installing the app again, but this "pending check" keeps staying forever.

Some apps are updated every few weeks, but some keep staying in "pending check" forever, even when new versions are available.

Why would you not set it up for Auto Update?

Even after it is set to "auto update" it still shows "pending check".

In the meantime again a new version of this app was available.

But it does not auto update it.

There are apps which I uodate manually, but the show "update available" and there are some apps which are automatically updated.

But a few apps keeps staying "pending check". And when I check in the app store and I see a newer version

I manually install the app again on the devices. Then the new version is installed, but in the MDM it is always "pending check".

I'm getting this same error in Airwatch on certain apps. Redeploying the iPads just seem to install the old version and won't update. Now, because the OS has been updated and the old app doesn't support it, the app won't open at all. Set to auto update but hanging on pending check. I imagine this is something to do with the MDM checking the update with Apple, but if it's good enough for App store surely good enough for the MDM, too?

Any more suggestions for fixing this?
