ESXi Standard switch blocks the network if all Nic's is marked as active in "Failover order" In switch settings

Hi I'm kind of new in this ESXi.... on this level.

ESXi Standard switch blocks the network if all Nic's is marked as active in "Failover order" In switch settings. Why is this the case?

I Have 2 Switches on an ESXi 6.7.U3 With 4 physical NIC's.

There is assigned 2 NIC's to each Switch.

Will Load balancing work if there are not active both NIC's?

And why does it not work with both NIC's Active in the "Failover order"?

By the way... This Esxi Host is connected to an Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch ES-48-Lite

Nope... I did not. But now I've tested the cable with a network tester, and it is okay.

But i did notice in the Switch, on the port connected to NIC3, it was showing that 74 packets was dropped.  I will keep an eye on that one for now to see what that might show next time this issue occurs. What it probberly will if it following the pattern up to now.

As you say, It looks that is some switch issue.

Can you move the pnic of your esxi to another sw port and do the config?

I think it is related to the ESXi vSwitch1 and the "Old production network" but for now I'll just keep the current settings, and after I can close down the Old SBS Server I'll try to enable NIC 3 again... and see if the problem persists. I'm almost sure it is related to that old VM SBS 2008 server. because it started after i moved it to the new server, probberly some with a MAC address.

And I've tried to change port in the switch....

Update...

Now I've move all old machines and Shutdown the SBS DC and it is still the same.

I have found out it is the last port NIC B on VM NIC 3 there is causing the problem on this PCIe adapter Intel Corporation 82576 Gigabit Network Connection.

I'll try to change this device to an Intel Quad Port Ethernet Server Adapter (I350T4) ... I Think this is the problem... Every Time I make the VMNIC3 Active the network starts to behave strange.

I'll keep the community post updated until I find out the solution Smiley Happy.

I've now added the Intel Quad Port Ethernet Server Adapter (I350T4).

Is has been working for almost a week now... so i think it is solved now... It seem like it was a hardware error
