vCenter 6.7 cannot import VMware 6.7 Update 3 image.

Attempting to upload image into vCenter Update Manager.  Uploading file progress bar moves pretty quickly most of the way to 100%, then restarts a few times, then quits here.  No error beyond the red banner.

I've updated vCenter and still have this.  No idea what to look at next as there is no error.  G Search indicates one cannot upload an older image but this one is not older.

Did you restart Update Manager? Sometimes this will solve issues.

And what is the version/build of vCenter?

Hi,

the version of the Esxi must always be the same or less than the version of the vCenter.

Issues like this often occur if the client doesn't have the the vCenter Server root certificate installed.

Are you able to do the upload from en ESXi UI?

I've restarted the entire server.

vCenter is 6.7.0.42000

I will install the March update 6.7.0.42300 and see if that makes any difference.

I've installed the certs locally, that didn't help.  I've tried with flash based browser, that failed.  I've tried with Chrome instead of FF, that failed (but shows the cert is trusted).

How would I import into Update Manager from ESX ui?

Just to rule that out.

Did you verify that the ISO image is ok, i.e. by verifying its checksum?

Are you able to upload another image, e.g. the VMware default image, to see if it's related to the image, or a general issue?

I did check the MD5 checksum from Lenovo and it matches.  I've also tried the VMware default ISO and have the same results.

I read somewhere that this issue appears related to the specific version of ESXi.

I did update vCenter to the latest and after 3 tries, was able to upload the Lenovo image.  The base VMware image still fails.

Hosts managed by vCenter are:

VMware ESXi, 6.7.0, 10302608

VMware ESXi, 6.7.0, 13006603

VMware ESXi, 6.7.0, 8169922

VMware ESXi, 6.0.0, 5572656 (being retired)

Current Lenovo and Dell custom image is

VMware ESXi, 6.7.0, 14320388

I'll update the servers and see what happens.

I updated one of the ESXi hosts to the most recent Lenovo build and was able to upload the VMware base image to Update Manager just fine.  Must be a version issue.

I have recently had the same issue, importing by browsing to file would fail. I managed to get around this by putting the ISO file on a web server, entering the URL and then importing. Hope this helps.
