DRS Problem

Hello,

I stood up a 2 host cluster for some lab related stuff and have fully automated DRS enabled, the problem i'm running into is that the service doesn't seem to be identifying that there is an imbalance. In this specific case I have 24 VMs running on 1 host and 0 on the other and DRS still shows as balanced and isn't migrating any systems over. Im not sure where to start looking but everything I readily know and can find to check seems to be normal outside of the behavior itself.

Screenshots may help others here - your host compute resources and the DRS info

Hello scott28tt

I was actually able to get it to swing over one VM so I curious is I need to raise the aggression level higher than 3.

Keep in mind, DRS partially looks at the balance of the cluster it self. If the VMs are getting the resources they are asking for then VMs may never move around. you could use an advanced option to have a better balance from a "number of VMs" point of view. More detail about that to be found here: DRS Additional Option: VM Distribution | vSphere Resources and Availability | VMware vSphere Central
