Lost Root Password

We let an employee go and he took the root password for ESXI with him. Anyone have an ideas for getting back in? I am not able to access the client with a Windows password and I dont have a password for the web GUI.

without vcenter you only have the option of reinstalling esxi or try to boot a live cd described here: https://www.vmwareblog.org/forgot-esxi-root-password-no-problems-4-ways-reset/

This will do the trick! If I break it I can just re-install. Thank you for your help 🙂
