vRA8: Can I deploy additional disk in same datastore as VM?

Hi, All.

I want to deploy additional volumes to the same datastore as VM when executing "Add Disk" of VM Day2 action.

(There are multiple datastores in my environment.)

When I tried without specifying a constraint tag, additional disk was deployed in the datastore set as "default".

Is there any good way?

Thanks.

I have raised an SR for the independent disk error for datastore culsters as I ran into it the other week as well, no updates as yet.

At this time there is no other way to guarantee it unless you implement constraints specifically to get what you need.

Yes, by specifying the constraints?

You could deploy to a datastore cluster that has the setting "keep all vmdks together" enabled.

Thank you for your reply.

I found the relevant part in the Storage DRS settings on vCenter!

But, if a datastore cluster tagged with StorageProfiles of vRA was specified with the "Add Disk" constraint tag, the disk addition ended with an error.

After all, is it necessary to specify the tag set for each data store instead of the cluster?

I wish there is a smarter way... 😞

Thank you for the additional information.

I understand that the only way to do this is to specify individual tags for the datastore.

I hope SR will deal with it in the future version upgrade.
