Managing Physical Machines vRA 7.6?

Hi,

I have seen that vRA 6.2 has the possibility of manage physical machines trough the management interface of the server: Managing Physical Machines. Also I see this table:

pastedImage_3.png

This table shows that vRA 7.0.x to 7.6.x doesnt have comptability.

This means that vRA 7.6 doesnt have support to Manage Physical Machines? VMware have another product to Manage Physical Server trough the management interface of the server?

BR!

Is there no way to perform physical server deployment with ISOs or templates using any VMware product?

Of course there's always a way, and multiple ways at that. How much pain and technical debt would you like to accrue in the process? Some options are with vRealize Orchestrator (vRO) where you will spend days, weeks, or months designing, coding, testing, and troubleshooting your own custom workflows to accomplish this from scratch. Another option is PowerCLI/PowerShell in which you'll effectively do the same thing. Both of these can be called from vRA. But there are no "physical-machine-ready" products from VMware that integrate with vRA.

Correct.

Not if by "the server" you mean vRA, no.

Thanks !

Did you know if any product of vCloud Suite can manage physical servers?

There are no products within the vCloud Suite that I'm aware of that can manage physical machines. VMware isn't exactly a "let's manage physical machines" type of company.

Hi ,

I understand that VMware is not that type of company but in version 6.2 it did. Although in version 7.6 it does not, perhaps with another product or otherwise you can provision ISOs or Templates on physical servers. I understand that at VMworld last year there was a conference that showed how from vCloud Director in conjunction with vRA something like templates and ISOs could be deployed on physical servers.

Greetings and thank you very much.

Hi ,

Thank you very much! So I can use vRO to do this? I understand that it will be a lot of work but I already have a base to start.
