SRM License Key Invalid

Have setup SRM 8.2 with vCenter 6.7 U3 using evaluation. Now when we go to add an SRM license, we get an invalid key error? I tried another SRM license key that I had and same message, I tried the same license keys on other vCenters, Still get the same message.

I found the following KB 2051335 VMware Knowledge Base and whilst not actually getting the Error: License file missing -5 message, I did perform a modify install to re-register the vCenter but still no joy.

Has anyone experience this issue?

Regards

Hi,

I'm trying to understand how I can help you, but your KB doesn't apply to SRM 8.2

It is not possible to install the SRM 8.2 license on the evaluation of Vcenter 6.7. You must first register the vCenter 6.7 U3 license and then you can also install the SRM license.

Hi,

Apologies for the slight confusion. Let me just clarify. Our vCenter is licensed with vCenter Standard and then under Solutions we are currently protecting VMs using evaluation mode.

We are currently trying to add a vCenter Site Recovery Manager 6 Standard (50 VMs) license key when we get the Invalid Key message.

Hi,

Ok! now I understand.

I think the problem is that the two products are not compatible. According to the VMware compatibility table, SRM 6.0 is not compatible with vCenter 6.7u3. For this reason, the license cannot be registered.

Additionally, I read this. However, are there different licenses for SRM 8.x? Can we not use a version 6 license?

Hi, so yes. Was using SRM 6 Standard license. That's not going to work is it? We need to request SRM 8 license?

Thanks
