NSX Home Lab

Hello All ,

I am trying to establish home lab for NSX for this purpose I am using two separate ESXi Hosts. On each each I have two ESXI hosts with and all of them are managed by single Vcenter and NSX instance. During installation NSX manager configuration I need to add some physical uplinks.

Can I virtualize my physical  cards to nested ESxi or no . right now in NSX Manager when I am trying to add host I show me only vmkernel interface not other physical interfaces. Any idea /feedback about this issue.

Many thanks

Hi,

I want to give you these very interesting links on how to set up an NSX home lab.

I hope they will be useful to you (in case you haven't already seen them).

I'm sorry, your description is bit unclear . Never mind, the ask is to set up a NSX home lab Smiley Happy Considering your server count , you could do something like this

1. Install all Management Software's on ESX-1 and use second server for nested lab

2. Install all management  Software's on ESX -1 & 2 and created nested ESX-I (Virtual Machines with required network adapters to match with your physical adapter requirement) and use those ESXI as NSX cluster

One such example is -> How to Build a Virtualized NSX-V SDN Lab (Part 1 - vSphere Infra)

Hi. This will answer your question, but I will add that I use Intel NUC for my NSX home lab. They are quite cheap. I have 4 of them and add 2 USB Nic to each. Thanks,,,
