No Storage found

Hi,

i have setup ESXi 6.7 with 2 Datastores, installed a client machine.

Then i attached a RDX-SATA device. Because it was not reported in Manage->Hardware I probably made the following mistake.

I assumed that the Device "Hewlett-Packard Company Smart Array P410i" is the newly attached RDX but it was the RAID-Controler :smileyconfused: and switched it to Passthrough.

After a restart both Storages disappeared. Simply "Toggle passthrough" back to "Not capable" is not working because after the reboot it is still Active!

In a shell ls /dev/disks/ no disk is listed.

How can i turn back this setting? Please Help!

Do you have 2 separate datastores regardless of that new one added SATA disk?! Both of them are gone now?! Can you explain with more details, please

Where did you install the ESXi host?

i have solved the problem. As i descibed i switched the Host RAID-Controller to passthrough (foolishly).

So all the disks, even on OS system level /dev/disks... were gone. On the Web-UI this action is irreversible!

Solution was to boot from live linux, mount the partition where state.tgz resides and change the "passthrough" value of the RAID Controler to "vmkernel"

in the /etc/vmware/esx.conf
