Will a Vmware Workstation 15 license key work with Workstation 12.x?

The reason I ask is that our server is SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 3 and according to

Supported host operating systems for Workstation Pro 12.x, 14.x and 15.x (2129859) VMware Knowledge Base

the supported version is Workstation 12.x

We'll be upgrading the server over the next 3-6 months, so will then move to v15.

Yes, it is possible. You must Downgrade the license from your management license page.

Please note licenses in China not purchased via VMware store cannot be downgraded.
