ESXi 6.7 update 3 Threadripper 3990x - install error - Failed to initialize acpi subsystem

Hey Everyone -

Need to run cluster software which I had working just fine in a lab. However, had to buy a much larger system due to resource constraints. That being said, I purchased the 64 core AMD Threadripper 3990x with an Asus mobo.

When it boots off USB it goes through the initialization process dying with the following. Also, mistakenly transferred a disk with ESXi 6.7 previously installed with the same error when it boots. Not sure what else to do as I've tried various options to no avail. Hopefully someone can guide me through this problem.

Hi,

check this setting that reports the article:

...The first thing we ran into was finding out the AORUS TRX40 disables “SVT” by default, so we needed to enable it under Advanced CPU Options in the BIOS. Curiously, it’s the only advanced CPU option that was disabled by default.

Thank you for your prompt response Alessandro. This feature being disabled has actually bit me in previous AMD installs. However, this time, this motherboard doesn't have this feature.

Nonetheless, I gave it a bunch of tries by disabling different USB features given that this is where it was halting when attempting to install Fedora.

I gave it a nights rest and this morning I woke up wanting to test the memory modules. To make the story short, I moved all memory modules to a new memory bank and lo and behold I was able to get it working. Not sure still what the issue is. I am up and running and appreciate your prompt response.
