Fusion on Mac Catalina - VMs routinely restart

This is an issue that has started happening since updating my MacBook to Catalina and VMWare Fusion to 11.5.1. I run mainly Kubuntu VMs and since the updates, I've found they frequently spontaneously reboot - and very often do not survive the mac going to sleep and resuming.  What are the right Fusion logs to look at when a VM restarts to start troubleshooting?

Hi,

That would be the vmware.log files within the VM bundle.

Beware though that they are verbose and contain a lot of "file not found" kind of lines that look alarming, but are just notifications (not errors or even warnings).
