control-click (right-click) not working

Hi,

I've been using v1.3 for a number of months without any real issues, Vsphere5 and windows XP,7 desktops. I upgraded yesterday to v1.5 and noticed that the Mac Control-click which produces a right click in windows had stopped working, no right click in guest. I went back to v1.4 and it still did not work. I then went back to v1.3 and it started working again. I'm wondering if I'm missing something obvious or whether there is an issue. My Mac is running osx 10.7.3..

thanks

Try settings of Mouse to 'Secondary Click'.

Hi,

I cofirm that the right click is working for me with the VMware View PCoIP Client for Mac 1.5 on Mac 10.6.8. I guess make sure the right click is working for you at the Mac OS it self before trying.

I have actually been trying the client and writing the post VMware View PCoIP Client for Mac 1.5  when I got across your post, so I thought to test it and post back.

Hope this help.

No config file. Control-click is Mac OS behavior, so it does not work in the remote windows desktop. If you want to use right-click, the only way is to enable secondary button of your mouse on Mac OS. If right-click works on your Mac OS, it should work on your remote windows desktop as well.

I have a Late 2011 MBP running OS X 10.7.5. In System Preferences > Trackpad, for the "Secondary click" item, I have:

1) The "Secondary click" check-box checked.

2) Selected "Click or tap with two fingers" in the pull-down. Alternatives are:

    * Click in bottom right corner

    * Click in bottom left corner

With this setup, in Horizon View Client 2.0, if I tap 2 fingers on an object (e.g. a file in Explorer), I get the

equivalent of a control-click (i.e. the right-click pop-up menu).

Hope this helps.

Hi, all.

I have a Mac mini running OS 10.9.5, and I have VMware Horizon client version 1.7 running.  I cannot get a right click to work either.  The client doesn't offer anything besides ctrl-alt-del, and the standard ctrl-mouseclick doesn't translate through the VM -- it's just a mouse-click when it gets there.  I looked at the previous posts, and I have no "secondary click" in my system preferences for mouse.  Can anyone help?

I have a MBP 2008 running Yosemite and the latest Fusion.  I didn't have right-click capability either after the Fusion upgrade.

I used the suggestion two posts up: Go to System Preferences then Trackpad.  Click Tap trackpad using two fingers for secondary click.

Though I have no other options, unlike the poster above (for lower left or right corners) this worked nevertheless.

Hello,

I know that this post is 6 years old, but I was in the same situation recently. So, for those who are interested, this is how I got through it.

In short, I think that if the above manipulations doesn't work, it is probably due to the anti-virus. To be sure, use Windows in safe mode, and see if the control-click works. For me it worked ! If so, be sure to delete the anti-virus and any files it may have created, choose another one and reinstall the VMware tools.

I hope it will help.
