CAn't start vmware vm in current state.

Hello,

I am John Tankersley. I am running vmware on Esxi 6.0 on a HP  P4300 G2.

I have 2 xeon processors  running 4 cores each or total 8 cores at 2.6 Ghz.

I have about 8 gigabyes of ram .

I can log into vmware 6.0 Esxi on the server putting the ip address into a browser on a client machine and gain access.

I can't start the virtual machine installed. I keep getting that the vm can't be started in the current state.

Can anyone give me any help?

John Tankersley

Thank-you.

A screenshot of the error and information about the hardware configuration of the VM would help.

Hi,

check the configured RAM for Virtual machines. if its exceeding the physical memory size you wont be able to power on the VM.  its better if you can provide more details like error screenshot, event log details, VM configurations etc.

please thumbs up if this helps.

Not necessarily, memory overcommit has been a feature of ESXi since before ESXi was born. Memory reservations can play a part, but they're not used by default.

Post a screenshot of the error and provide the configured resources and settings of the particular virtual machine.

Was I helpful? Give a kudo for appreciation!
