You not need to start over. Here are the requirements for the VCAP-DCV 2020 Design and Deploy:

hey Preetam,

unfortunately  you have to restart all over again because the VCAP-DCD5 has only two years of validation ..

one good news for you Smiley Happy

from 2019 VMware certifications has life long validation Smiley Happy

Requirements for VCIX-DCV 2020 are here: VMware Certified Implementation Expert - Data Center Virtualization 2020 - Acclaim

From there you can review the requirements for each individual certification (Design and Deploy)

Scott, thanks but the link goes to the same place.

What is unclear if VCAP-DCD and VCAP-DCV are same?

99.9%not. I've already started preparing VCP-DVC 2020

I can only assume therefore that your older VCAP5-DCD is NOT considered to meet the "any VCAP-DCV" designation in the paths shown.

From the Design page:

From the Deploy page:

Assuming I am right about that, you will need to revert to the VCP-DCV 2020 as a first step.

Oh God. This is totally opposite to what the certification team has told me.

If I'm VCAP-DCD5 which is 1.1.3 section in the Design screenshot, then I simply need to give the 6.7 design exam again.

Can you please tell me where to get this information?

I will directly approach Karl on this. I'm almost about to book VCP 6.7 exam.

It would be good if someone can confirm my understanding.

Sometime back authorization was required to book the exam. Is it no longer required?

Now as I dig into it, you are apparently right.

See the screen below.
