Why VMware is using NSX-T in AWS & not NSX-v ?

Since the hypervisor is ESXi in AWS why not NSX-V & what is the reason to use NSX-T ?

Even if NSX-V was included in first time of VMware Cloud on AWS, we decided to move to NSX-T that brings more feature and interconnection possibilities: we are talking about Cloud use case and not only on premise: integration with native AWS Services and ENI (link between our respective VPC's); Hybrid linked mode with on premises, etc...
